He creates light, emotional, minimalist soundscapes by combining several styles, and samples from classical, jazz and old television recordings overlaid with instrumental performances by himself and other guest artists. His music has been described by his record label as “indie-tronica” and is similar in some ways to Boards of Canada and Iceland’s múm.

The EP is a themed collection of songs navigating the timeline of a shipwreck through music.
My Humble Opinion
This is a deep, 'oceanic' beauty, this music lulls you to sleep like some giant calm waves, holding you gently but not letting go. And the vocals are like sad siren's singing putting you in some kind of trance. Taking into account this is the band's first album, that's definetely a mighty start and I can't wait for more. Marvellous, love from the first song.

Instrumental post-rock from Athens, GA. Shares members with Cinemechanica and Maserati.
On Anam Cara, the bands first proper record, A. Armada weaves its sound through ringing guitars dipped in echo and a rhythm section that serves more as propellant than mere support. The pieces shift from somber genteelness to intense consideration to soft cradling. This isn’t music to conquer the world by; this is music to conquer oneself with. But if you ask the band about this they’ll probably give you a blank stare. And that’s, really, the whole point. In making music for themselves they’ve inadvertently made it for you.
A. Armada distinguishes itself from its peers by possessing an intangible Southernism which renders its intensity more introspective than bombastic.
-Gordon Lamb, Flagpole Magazine
Athens, Georgia has given birth to its newest musical prodigies, A. Armada. The instrumental quartet uses an incendiary marriage of weaving guitars and pounding drums to create their brand of music.

The Tumbled Sea is a one man project by Sam Lee from Boston, Massachusetts. The Tumbled Sea was once Mr.Mumbles, and sometimes still is. Sam Lee started writing music being still a high school student. Recording in his living room, he employed a medley of musical instruments including guitars, pianos, synthesizers and various toy instruments. The first album came out unsigned although some handmade cds were distributed among friends. The second album Melody/Summer came out in 2009 on Futurerecords music label.
My Humble Opinion
Wonderfully beautiful minimalistic piano compositions.

Troubles is a UK-based ambient post-rock instrumental band formed in 2005. The members of the band are Joel Clifford, Sam Herlihy, Michael Hibbert, Simon Jones, Mike Siddell and Jon Winter.
The band was formed towards the end of 2005, with recording taking place from September 2005 and the band's MySpace page being created on November 9, 2005. Troubles was originally a side project of Hope of the States, of which Herlihy, Hibbert, Jones and Siddell were members. Following the dissolution of Hope of the States in August 2006, Troubles continued and has become the primary project of the four former members.
Troubles were first heard in February 2006. Three tracks were uploaded to a specially created page on The Halfway Home, a Hope of the States fansite, entitled Undertunnel/Overtunnel, Troubles Angels - Worry and Rabbits In The Trees. Dubbed the Troubles Musick Sampler, the tracks quickly began circulating amongst the Hope of the States community, despite them being removed from the website soon after first appearing due to intervention from Sony BMG (Hope of the States' label at the time). Further tracks were added occasionally to the band's MySpace page.
The concerts revealed a much more 'post-rock' sound to the band, quite different from the more ambient soundscapes heard on the demos released beforehand. All the members of the band wear white onstage while similarly-coloured projections play behind them.
Most members of the band play guitar, occasionally reverting to keyboard or music box, while Simon Jones plays the bass and Mike Siddell the violin. In the live shows, Mike Hibbert's brother Marc has played with the band onstage.
As of April 2007 the band are signed to Rough Trade. The album (now titled ‘First’) and the EP (titled ‘Sen’taur’) are available online and in Rough Trade shops, with a DVD rumoured to be in the works.
My Humble Opinion
Really really good and a rare issue. Reminds of The Silver Mt. Zion at some points.

Formed in February 2004, September Malevolence is a post-rock band from Gothenburg, Sweden. Their strong melodies and well-performed songwriting earned them a loyal following and the debut album ’Tomorrow We’ll Wonder Where This Generation Gets It’s Priorities From’ was voted the 4th best instrumental release of 2005, in competition with 50 other albums by The Silent Ballet.
After three years of touring, switching members, writing songs, rejecting songs, switching members again, it’s as a band transformed, evolved and with a new almost desperate edge to the music. Witness After This Darkness, There’s A Next long play and you can tell it hasn’t been three years of sitting in the sun.
My Humble Opinion
Is that it's one of the greatest bands ever. Always with me on my player. Great lyrics, atmospheric music.. this band proves that vocals are not outta place in post-rock compositions but when talantely used make them 10 times better.

The name is derived from the abbreviation AESTHE (An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything) and it looks like misspelled word ‘aesthetic’. Aesthesys’ music can be described as instrumental post-rock with ambient and neoclassical influences.
My Humble Opinion
Deep, melancholic, enchanting, for me this is undoubtedly the musical discovery of the month. I never appreciated russian post-rock scene too high for it's unprofessional approach, lack of depth and thouhghtfullness, but THIS is what I can call an exception. Aesthesys's music stunned me from the first notes and made me proud of having such a compatriot.
Philisophical reflections wonderfully turned into music.

Escape The Day was a post-rock band from Berlin, Germany formed in year 2003; who took influence from acoustic and ambient music.
Their unreleased album “Ghostless” (2005) was put on hold due to the suicide of band member Christoph Florian Rehse (1979-2005).
After year 2005 Escape The Day has stopped, and is forever dedicated to the love and memory of Florian. Their work was described as “Great music for lonely walks, hangovers or just falling asleep.”
My Humble Opinion
Once I found muself humming a beautiful melody and wondered what could it be. And then realized that it could be nothing but some song from Escape The Day's album I had listened to just the other day, and which didn't impress me somehow. Usually it takes me many listens to memorize a post-rock melody since they are not that catchy. That's why I was so surprised and gave this band the second listen. Then the third. It's definetely worth it.
