Cam Butler - Healing Feelings (2007)

Cam Butler is the guitarist of Silver Ray, an instrumental post-rock trio from Melbourne, Australia. His solo work is often categorized as post-rock, combining dark, sinewy rhythms of electric guitar and percussion with symphonic string section.

Cam is the founder, guitarist and main composer with internationally lauded 3 piece instrumental band, Silver Ray who have 3 critically acclaimed albums out thru Pharmacy
Records (Australia) and Brokenhorse Records (UK)

He has released 3 solo albums Crazy Dreams (2003), Go Slow (2005) and See (Symphony No. 1) (2006). These albums feature dramatic and darkly, beautiful mini-symphonies; highly melodic and deeply personal. They combine lush and emotive guitar, drums, atmospheric guitar loops and orchestral string sections

He has formed The Shadows of Love Orchestra to perform these albums in concert -- strings, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums, loops -- a tasty brew.

Cam has been performing since 2004 as either a solo guitarist or as a duo with Brett Poliness, drummer with Silver Ray. Using a modified 12 string acoustic guitar and loops, he creates majestic, unfolding acoustic "ragas" that are inspirational and rhythmically powerful. An album of songs with Cam on 12 string acoustic guitar, entitled Healing Feelings will be released in early 2007.

Years Of Rice And Salt

Years of Rice and Salt is a 5-piece instrumental rock / folk band based in London, United Kingdom. They were formed in Summer ‘08 and released their debut EP entitled Service Bell EP on 31st January 2009.

The EP is a themed collection of songs navigating the timeline of a shipwreck through music.

My Humble Opinion

This is a deep, 'oceanic' beauty, this music lulls you to sleep like some giant calm waves, holding you gently but not letting go. And the vocals are like sad siren's singing putting you in some kind of trance. Taking into account this is the band's first album, that's definetely a mighty start and I can't wait for more. Marvellous, love from the first song.
